How does flickr measure interestingness
If it's Christmas time, then drunk people with santa hats tend to be more interesting. So it's a constantly changing, living thing, and attempts to take a snapshot of what people are interested in from one moment to the next, and apply them to the Flickr library.
It sounds more like my last review at work. What's the difference between a subjectivity scale and an objectivity scale in terms of goals met? I honestly think it has more to do with getting folks who are not as active on Flickr more involved. Once you become thoroughly addicted, you don't get explored anymore, no matter what you post.
I have found this to be true in many cases. If a person does not participate in groups or has few contacts they are much more likely to have their photos explored. I would really like to know how this works. I hope somebody can help me, I couldn't find anything about it on the page! There are lots of things that make a photo 'interesting' or not in the Flickr. Where the clickthroughs are coming from; who comments on it and when; who marks it as a favorite; its tags and many more things which are constantly changing.
Interestingness changes over time, as more and more fantastic photos and stories are added to Flickr. Posted ages ago. Thanx ednothing! The algorithm for interestingness is a closely guarded flickr secret. Nobody aside from flickr staff knows the formula.
